Billy Miller has been making media for 22 years, writing and producing over 340 television shows for ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and ESPN as well Nike’s first snowboarding commercial. As a producer of The Big Up Show, Billy helps teach peace and unity to young people through hands-on workshops, residencies, assemblies and a children’s TV series.
More than 7,475 diverse students have received a professional moviemaking experience through Billy’s instruction. His students’ films have played in the NW Filmmaker’s Festival, Bend Film and The International Silent Film Festival, winning an audience award.
Using moviemaking to promote team-building and pro-social awareness for youth programs like Caldera, The Bodecker Foundation and The Hollywood Theatre, Billy has taught at schools all over Portland and Central Oregon. From elementary to Portland State University, Billy brings diverse groups together to use and understand live TV technology.
